NIIGATA, February 17. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan paid a working visit to the Japanese city of Niigata, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, diplomats met with Uzbek students studying at the International University of Japan, discussing the conditions provided for students, consular support and any potential challenges they may face.

Additionally, a consular meeting was held with two Uzbek citizens serving sentences at Niigata Prison. The Consul reviewed their detention conditions and health status, ensuring proper oversight of the protection of Uzbek nationals abroad.

The delegation also held meetings with representatives of Japanese companies “INPEX Japan”, “Agronavt”, “Jex Co. Ltd” and “Sansei Co. Ltd”, where they discussed Uzbekistan’s investment climate, export opportunities and potential areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. Japanese companies expressed interest in the Uzbek market, including fruit and vegetable imports, as well as participation in promising development projects.
