Egypt expresses interest in developing transport and logistics cooperation with Uzbekistan

CAIRO, July 6. Dunyo" IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev met with Minister of Transport of Egypt Kamel al-Wazir, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, the parties reviewed the prospects for creating new economically viable transport corridors aimed at expanding trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Egypt.
Egyptian side also provided information on plans to construct railway and highway links along the Cairo – Amman - Baghdad route within the framework of the “Strategic Trilateral Cooperation Egypt – Jordan – Iraq” format. It was noted that the implementation of this project will provide Uzbekistan with a direct logistical connection to the African continent.
Following the outcomes of the meeting, an agreement was reached to take practical measures to develop cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, organize mutual delegation visits, sign memorandums of cooperation and implement joint projects.
