“Euronews Italia”: Serbia prepares to open Embassy in Tashkent

ROME, September 11. /Dunyo IA/. Italian edition of the international television channel “Euronews Italia” has published a review dedicated to the outcomes of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belgrade, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, Uzbekistan and Serbia signed a declaration on strategic partnership and approved 20 bilateral agreements in the fields of trade, transport, energy, digitalization, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism and labour mobility.
According to the publication, the sides have also commenced preparations for negotiations on a free trade agreement.
Particular attention in the publication is paid to transport cooperation. Uzbekistan and Serbia signed documents in support of the Middle Corridor, which connects Central Asia with Europe. The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, also announced the possibility of launching direct air service between Belgrade and Tashkent within the next 7 to 8 months.
“Euronews Italia” notes that the further development of bilateral ties will be significantly bolstered by the upcoming opening of the Embassy of Serbia in Tashkent. Uzbekistan, for its part, has confirmed its participation in “Expo 2027 Belgrade” with a dedicated national pavilion.
