State visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan concludes

ТASHKENT, February 6. /Dunyo IA/. The eventful program of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has concluded, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of our State, during his stay in Islamabad, the Head of our state held substantive talks with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif. Key issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Pakistani relations of friendship and strategic partnership were considered, along with expanding practical cooperation in the political, trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, and humanitarian spheres.
Following the high-level talks, a solid package of bilateral documents was signed, aimed at deepening cooperation in priority areas and implementing joint projects.
Meetings were also held with the Chief of the Defence Staff – Commander of the Army of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar.
During the two-day visit, the Head of our state took part in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan business forum and held meetings with representatives of Pakistan's leading business circles.
At the Aiwan-e-Sadr residence, a solemn ceremony was held to present the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Pakistan's highest state award, the order of Nishan-e-Pakistan.
Furthermore, the President of Uzbekistan was awarded the honorary titles of doctor and professor by one of Pakistan's leading higher educational institutions.
In Pakistan’s capital, one of the streets was named “Tashkent”, while a newly established park was named after Babur, symbolizing the shared historical heritage and the continued rapprochement between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
At the conclusion of the state visit program, the Head of state departed for Tashkent. At Nur Khan Airport, the distinguished guest was seen off by the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister and Minister for Industries and Production of Pakistan Haroon Akhtar and other officials.
