SAINT PETERSBURG, February 27. /Dunyo IA/.  On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, an iftar was organised for Uzbek citizens temporarily working in Russia, on the initiative of the Government of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event took place at the “Kingisepp” Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Saint Petersburg. A traditional dastarkhan featuring fruits, beverages, and national dishes was arranged for the guests, creating an atmosphere of homeliness and unity.

During the gathering, staff of the Consulate General and representatives of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan addressed the attendees with welcoming remarks and held an open dialogue. Uzbek citizens were provided with information on recent changes in migration legislation within the consular district and were given clarifications regarding access to consular-legal assistance and protection of their rights and lawful interests.

Ilyoskhon Sobitov, Imam-Khatib of the “Obid Qori” mosque in the Namangan region, delivered a spiritual and educational address. In his speech, he spoke about the foundations of Islam, the traditional values of the Uzbek people, and the significance of the holy month of Ramadan. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of acquiring religious knowledge exclusively from official and reliable sources.

Compatriots expressed their sincere gratitude for the attention and support shown. Muzaffar Razzakov, an engineer (foreman) at KMZ and a native of the Khorezm region, noted the importance of such meetings and thanked the country's leadership for their consistent care for citizens working abroad.

The event concluded in an atmosphere of warm communication, mutual respect and well-wishes.
