Malaysian Company Plans to Build Golf Resort Complex in Uzbekistan

• 126KUALA LUMPUR, February 3. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev met with Fio Fahmi, Executive Director of the Malaysian company “Spora Global Sdn Bhd”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the head of the Malaysian company presented an investment proposal for the construction of a modern golf resort complex in the Tashkent region that would meet international standards.
According to him, the complex is expected to receive world-class golf resort status and will include not only a professional golf course, but also a golf club building, four- and five-star hotels, modern residential facilities, a restaurant and wellness complex, an aquapark, as well as ski facilities for the winter season. Along with further development of the region’s sports infrastructure, the project aims to elevate the tourism potential of the Tashkent region to a new level.
The investors proposed implementing the project through a public-private partnership (PPP) with the khokimiyat of the Tashkent region, including the establishment of a joint venture.
Fio Fahmi noted that in the coming days a delegation comprising the company’s management and specialists will visit Uzbekistan to conduct a detailed assessment of the opportunities and potential locations for the project.
“Spora Global Sdn Bhd” was founded in 2012. The company specializes in the design, construction, management, renovation, and development of hotels and resorts, and currently operates golf clubs in Singapore, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Scotland.
