NEW YORK, February 8. /Dunyo IA/. The International Turon Federation, established in 2025 in New York by Uzbek compatriot Farrukh Niyazimbetov with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, has entered a new stage of its development - expanding international activities and strengthening the position of the Uzbek national martial art Turon on the global sports stage, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During this period, the federation has established the necessary organizational base, allowing it to build a sustainable model of cooperation with national sports structures and begin practically expanding its geographical presence.
Currently, the International Turon Federation includes national associations from North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Turon is developing in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Turkiye, and Japan. Work is underway to establish national structures in New Zealand and Egypt.
A separate area of activity is the development of Turon in Latin American countries. In Bolivia, the national federation cooperates with state sports authorities, confirming the official status and compliance of this martial art with established sports standards. In Europe, a key step was the establishment of the British Turon Association, which serves as the governing body for the development of this martial art.
Despite active international expansion, the International Turon Federation maintains strong ties with Uzbekistan as its historical and spiritual homeland. Its philosophy, core values, and ethical principles, based on Uzbek national tradition, are consistently promoted through the federation’s international and national structures.
