ASHGABAT, January 21. /Dunyo IA/.  Turkmenistan’s news agency “News Central Asia” has published an article in Russian and English highlighting the key directions, priorities and major aspects of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic activities, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The publication emphasizes that President reflected on 2025 as a productive year for Uzbekistan’s international relations, noting high-level visits to 26 countries and historic first-time visits from several foreign leaders. The country has expanded its strategic partnerships to 19 nations total and established allied relationships with Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. Since 2017, Uzbekistan has opened 16 new diplomatic missions, bringing the total to 60 and now maintains diplomatic relations with 165 countries.

Particular attention is given to the role of ambassadors, who are expected to go beyond traditional political dialogue. President emphasized that a modern ambassador is a representative of the state who attracts investment and technology, opens new export markets, develops transport and logistics corridors, increases tourist flows, facilitates legal labour migration and protects the rights of Uzbek citizens abroad.

The economic results of 2025 were impressive: agreements worth USD 160 billion were signed, the total foreign trade turnover exceeded USD 80 billion and exports reached USD 33.5 billion. President emphasized the need to further develop economic diplomacy, improve logistics, more actively promote national products in international markets and expand cooperation with foreign universities and international grant programs.
