MOSCOW, June 25. /Dunyo IA/. Online edition of the Russian daily newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” has published an article entitled “The Russian-Uzbek Dimension: Gastronomic diplomacy as a soft power tool”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Report outlines a study published in the official scientific journal, The Bulletin of the Research Institute of Cultural Studies and Intangible Cultural Heritage, under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan. Research explores the pivotal role of gastronomic diplomacy and gastronomic tourism in strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.

As highlighted in the publication, the study focuses on the theoretical and practical dimensions of leveraging culinary traditions as an effective instrument of “soft power” and macro-regional mediation.

Drawing upon current statistical data and market trends from 2025–2026, the authors of the study analysed the dynamics of integrating Uzbek culinary culture into the socio-economic and restaurant landscape of the Russian Federation.

Particular emphasis is placed on the role of traditional Uzbek cuisine as a vital instrument of intercultural dialogue. According to the researchers, it serves not only as a landmark gastronomic brand but also actively fosters mutual understanding between the peoples of both nations.

Furthermore, the study presents proposals for the implementation of a joint strategic program between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan, aimed at preserving the authenticity of culinary heritage against the backdrop of globalization and the homogenization of dietary habits.
