New Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents copies of credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of UAE

ABU DHABI, April 29. /Dunyo IA/. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Umid Shodiyev presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Omar Obaid Mohamed Al Shamsi, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Omar Al Shamsi wished the newly appointed Ambassador success in his duties and expressed readiness to further expand relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan across all areas.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.

The new Ambassador is 43 years old and graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. He has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system since 2005. He began his diplomatic career as a referent and has successively held various positions, including posts at Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Washington and New York.

From 2018 to 2023, he served as Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO in Paris. In 2023, he was appointed Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.

Umid Shodiyev succeeded Abdulaziz Akkulov, who headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE from 2022 to 2025 and was appointed Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan in December 2025.
