Embassy of Uzbekistan hosts iftar for compatriots in Ankara

ANKARA, March 5. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized an iftar for compatriots at the building of the Turkish Confederation of Trade Unions (Türk-İş) in the Cankaya district of Ankara, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by Uzbek students studying in Turkiye, as well as the Chairman of the Turkish Confederation of Trade Unions, Ergun Atalay. Representatives of the local media agency TRT AVAZ were also present to cover the event.
The imam representing the Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan highlighted the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan, which encourages people toward good deeds, charity, generosity, and strengthens unity. Special attention was given to the upbringing of youth and protecting them from destructive ideologies. The imam also emphasized ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and the opportunities being created for citizens.
Ergun Atalay praised the high level of organization of the event, noting that Uzbek students, far from their homeland during Ramadan, remain under the care and attention of their state. He added that such gatherings help ease feelings of longing for home and family.
In their remarks, Embassy representatives underlined that protecting the rights and interests of citizens abroad and supporting them remains a key priority of state policy.
The iftar took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Participants prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity in Uzbekistan and across the Islamic world.
At the conclusion of the event, guests expressed their gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for its constant attention and care for compatriots living abroad.
