WASHINGTON, March 1. /Dunyo IA/. In order to create appropriate conditions for the proper observance of the holy month of Ramadan abroad, an iftar dinner was hosted at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together compatriots, representatives of public and religious organizations, international partners, as well as members of the American community.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Furqat Sidikov emphasized the values of humanism, compassion, and solidarity inherent in Ramadan. He noted that the state’s attention and support for citizens residing abroad continue to be implemented consistently. The Ambassador also highlighted that the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years have elevated engagement with compatriots abroad to a new level and strengthened ties between the diaspora and their homeland.

The participation of imams and religious figures from Uzbekistan symbolized spiritual and cultural support for citizens living overseas. Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Muhammadolim Muhammadsiddiqov, delivered remarks dedicated to the values of Ramadan and the importance of peace and mutual understanding, underscoring the government’s efforts to unite the Uzbek diaspora and preserve national and religious traditions.

Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Ilyoskhon Toshkhujaev of the Al-Bukhari Islamic Center, Wade Cusack, Founder and President of Love Your Neighbour Community, as well as the Founder and President of Civilizations Exchange and Cooperation Foundation, Mohamad Bashar Arafat.

In their statements, they underscored the significance of Uzbekistan’s policy of religious tolerance and ongoing educational reforms, expressed their readiness to further strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, and highlighted the country’s experience in promoting intercultural dialogue and cooperation among diverse communities.

The event served as a platform to reinforce unity within the Uzbek diaspora abroad and to exchange views and experiences. Participants acknowledged the positive developments in the country, improvements in consular and legal services, and enhanced protection of citizens’ rights.

Compatriots expressed gratitude for the attention and practical support provided by the Embassy, emphasizing that the participation of religious and cultural figures from Uzbekistan contributes to strengthening spiritual unity and national identity.

The iftar served not only as a spiritual gathering dedicated to the holy month, but also as an important platform for fostering mutual trust and cooperation between the state and the diaspora, demonstrating the high level of attention given to citizens abroad.
