PAKSH, May 19. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan participated in the traditional annual celebration of Town Day in Paksh, Hungary, which marks its 47th anniversary this year, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event brought together a large number of local residents, representatives of civil society, business communities and international guests.

As part of the festive program, Uzbek side presented the cultural, historical, tourism and gastronomic potential of Uzbekistan. Visitors were introduced to the country’s rich historical heritage, ancient cities along the Great Silk Road, unique architectural monuments, national traditions, as well as Uzbekistan’s modern tourism opportunities.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov briefed the event participants on the centuries-old history of the Uzbek people, their unique culture, hospitality traditions, and the dynamic transformations taking place in modern Uzbekistan. Special attention was paid to the issues of strengthening Uzbek-Hungarian relations, expanding humanitarian cooperation, and developing intercultural dialogue.

The presentation of Uzbek national cuisine became the central element of the program. A masterclass on cooking traditional Uzbek pilaf was organized for the guests of the festival, during which the participants were able to familiarize themselves with the specifics of national culinary traditions and the process of preparing one of the main symbols of Uzbek hospitality.

As part of the event, a tasting of Uzbek pilaf and the national "achichuk" salad, prepared by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, took place. The national dishes aroused significant interest among visitors and were highly praised by the guests of the event, many of whom showed an interest in getting to know the culture, traditions and tourist routes of Uzbekistan.

The participation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the festive events in the city of Paksh became an important element of public diplomacy and cultural exchange, contributing to the promotion of a positive international image of Uzbekistan, strengthening friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries, as well as developing people-to-people contacts and mutual interest in the cultural heritage and tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
