ТАSHKENT, September 18. /Dunyo IA/.   Today, during his trip to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Diyqan Arna mahalla in Nukus district and reviewed residents’ living conditions, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, more than 1,000 families, comprising over 3,600 people, live in the mahalla. The projects being implemented here aim to create decent living conditions, ensure employment and increase household incomes.

Smart Mahalla system introduced here enables prompt consideration of citizens’ requests, accurate recording of demographic data, and infrastructure monitoring through digital technologies, while also contributing to entrepreneurship development in the mahalla.

Particular attention is also being paid to improving social infrastructure. Under the investment program, a modern 60-place kindergarten has been commissioned at a cost of 4.5 billion UZS. Another 1 billion UZS from the local budget has been allocated to build football and workout fields.

Under the “One Mahalla – One Product” principle, beekeeping has been identified as the main area for increasing household incomes. Currently, more than 20 households in the mahalla keep beehives. Each such household keeps between 50 and 100 beehives, producing up to 1 ton of honey annually.

Head of State visited the home of mahalla resident Bakhtiyar Jubayev and reviewed the operations of a honey-processing workshop and the production of beehive boxes.

During a single season, 2 tons of processed honey are sold here, generating an annual profit of about 200 million UZS. The workshop also produces more than 250 beehive boxes each year, bringing in an additional 80 million UZS.

By the end of the year, the Beekeepers Association plans to organize beekeeping cooperatively in another 100 households. This will provide even more families with a stable source of income.

Here, President also held a warm and substantive conversation with mahalla activists, representatives of the older generation and young people.

It was noted that the development of the Aral Sea region and the improvement of people’s living standards are among the priorities of state policy. It was emphasized that the scope of the development work launched in the mahallas will be expanded and the pace of implementation accelerated.
