AICHI-NAGOYA, September 30. /Dunyo IA/. Athletes of Uzbekistan have secured 53 medals at the ongoing 20^th Asian Games in Japan, including 16 gold, 18 silver and 19 bronze medals, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Representatives of the country have demonstrated exceptional performance, particularly in wrestling, judo, boxing and athletics.

In athletics, Barnokhon Sayfullaeva emerged victorious in the women's high jump competition, clearing the bar at 1.90 meters.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, competing in the under-67 kg weight category, Aytjan Khalmakhanov defeated Kyotaro Sogabe of Japan in the final bout to capture the Asian Games gold medal. In the under-87 kg division, Jalgasbay Berdimuratov won the bronze medal match against Shamil Ozhaev of Kazakhstan.

In the under-130 kg category, Rafael Tsitsuashvili will advance to contest the gold medal in the final against Amin Mirzazadeh of Iran.

Uzbekistan's judokas have also achieved significant success. Sita Kadamboeva secured the championship title in the under-52 kg weight category by defeating Jang Se-yoon of South Korea in the final. In the under-60 kg division, Samariddin Kuchkarov defeated Loik Kudbudinov of Tajikistan to claim the bronze medal.

Abdurakhim Nutfulloev, competing in the under-66 kg weight category, finished as the silver medalist following a closely contested bout against Yolk Kazirbyev of Mongolia.

In the boxing tournament, representatives of Uzbekistan have thus far secured three bronze medals. In the men's division, Shavkatjon Boltaev yielded to Torekhan Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan in the under-70 kg semifinals.

Concurrently, Uzbek boxer Turabek Khabibullaev defeated his Indian opponent with a score of 4:1 to advance to the final.

In the women's division, Feruza Kazakova (under-51 kg) and Sitora Turdibekova (under-60 kg) both concluded their campaigns as bronze medallists after reaching the semifinal stages.

In the men's football tournament, the first semifinal match concluded with South Korea defeating China 2:1, becoming the first team to advance to the final.

In the second semifinal, the national team of Uzbekistan will face Japan. The gold and bronze medal matches are scheduled to take place on October 2.

Consequently, the sports delegation of Uzbekistan currently holds a total of 53 medals - 16 gold, 18 silver and 19 bronze.
