Senate approves Law Ratifying Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Central Asian Countries and China

TASHKENT, October 4. /Dunyo IA/.  At the 20th plenary session of the Senate, Law “On the Ratification of the Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China (Astana, June 17th, 2025)” was considered, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the discussion, it was noted that the Treaty is the first multilateral international treaty signed within the “Central Asia – China” format, which establishes the legal foundations for long-term cooperation between the Central Asian states and the People’s Republic of China.

According to the upper chamber of parliament, the Treaty provides for the development of strategic partnership relations based on the principles of sovereign equality of states, territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs, non-use of force and peaceful settlement of disputes.

Document also stipulates the expansion of political dialogue mechanisms, the development of trade and economic and investment cooperation, the strengthening of transport and communication links and the deepening of cooperation in the fields of energy, industrial cooperation, digital technologies, “green” development and the humanitarian sphere.

Implementation of the Treaty opens up new opportunities for such important projects as the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway, development of transport corridors, modernization of logistics infrastructure and the development of the “Electronic Silk Road” trade platform.

According to the senators, the Law will serve to intensify Uzbekistan’s participation in cooperation processes between Central Asia and China, attract investment, increase export and transit potential, ensure regional security and further strengthen friendship and mutual understanding among the peoples.

The senators approved Law.
