Afghanistan media: Uzbekistan and Pakistan emphasize Afghanistan Peace as crucial for regional stability

• 69KABUL, February 8. /Dunyo IA/. The state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan has received extensive coverage in the Afghan media, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In particular, “Tolo News”, Afghanistan’s leading television channel, broadcasted hourly reports on the progress of high-level negotiations and other events within the framework of the visit.
On the “Tolo News Plus” website, it was highlighted that Pakistan and Uzbekistan view peace in Afghanistan as a key element for regional stability.
“A joint statement from the two countries noted that the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project is directly dependent on the security situation and political stability in Afghanistan. The project aims to strengthen transit and trade between Central and South Asia, - the statement emphasized. - The statement further stressed that any instability in Afghanistan would pose a challenge not only for the people of Afghanistan but also for regional economic cooperation”.
It was particularly noted that Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized during their official meeting in Islamabad that peace and stability in Afghanistan are vital for sustainable security and prosperity in the region.
The “Ariana News” agency reported that Uzbekistan and Pakistan jointly called on Afghanistan to take concrete actions against militants operating on its territory. They emphasized that regional stability and large-scale transport projects depend on improving the security situation in the country.
“The call was made in a joint statement issued following the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan. The statement emphasized that peace and stability in Afghanistan are crucial for long-term regional peace, economic growth and the successful implementation of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway project”, - the agency reported.
