Students from Novosibirsk to Continue Artistic Practice in Uzbekistan

• 107NOVOSIBIRSK, July 3. /Dunyo IA/. The first expanded meeting with faculty members and students of the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SIBSTRIN) took place at the General Consulate of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between SIBSTRIN and specialized higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to the continuation of field-based artistic practices for the university's students.
It is planned that future trips will cover Tashkent, Bukhara and Khiva, and will be organized across various educational programs, including “Architecture”, “Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage” and “Design and Art”.
During the negotiations, a proposal was also put forward to invite a delegation from the Samarkand State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering named after Mirzo Ulugbek, consisting of six faculty members and students, to Novosibirsk in September 2026. The visit will be dedicated to the exchange of experience, conducting creative meetings, and presenting art works and architectural sketches by Uzbek students.
In addition, the faculty members of SIBSTRIN supported the initiative of the General Consulate to organize a second trip for the university's students and teachers to Uzbekistan in October–November, with visits to Tashkent, Bukhara and Khiva.
Meeting participants noted that Uzbekistan is of great interest to the university's students and faculty members due to its rich historical and cultural heritage, unique architectural monuments and the country's active development.
As noted, a few days prior, an exhibition of students' artwork created during their May field practice in Samarkand was held at SIBSTRIN. The exposition was dedicated to the city's architectural monuments, including the Gur-Emir and Bibi-Khanym complexes, Mirzo Ulugbek Observatory, as well as the modern landscape of the ancient city.
