Student Art Exhibition dedicated to Samarkand opens in Novosibirsk

NOVOSIBIRSK, June 26. /Dunyo IA/.    Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SIBSTRIN), with the assistance of the General Consulate of Uzbekistan, has hosted an exhibition of creative works by the university's students, entirely dedicated to Uzbekistan and, in particular, the magnificent and ancient city of Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

It should be particularly emphasized that the exhibition served as a logical continuation and the ultimate outcome of an open-air art internship held in May 2026. Organized directly by the General Consulate, this practical training was hosted at the Samarkand State Architecture-Building University named after Mirzo Ulugbek for third-year SIBSTRIN students specializing in “Architecture” and “Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage”.

Exhibition featured vibrant drawings and landscapes dedicated to the grandiose monuments of Samarkand - Mausoleum of Amir Temur, Bibi-Khanym Complex, Ulugbek Observatory, among others as well as the contemporary life of the ancient Temurid capital.

Notably, the works and sketches by the students from Novosibirsk were executed in both color and monochrome formats, capturing the complete beauty and uniqueness of Samarkand’s architectural design, its heritage and its historical origins.

According to the students themselves, the open-air art internship in Samarkand was not only the first in their lives and studies but also left an indelible impression due to the very fact of their presence on the soil of ancient yet eternally youthful Samarkand, as well as the opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge with their Uzbek colleagues.

It should also be noted that in addition to the drawings and sketches dedicated to Samarkand, the Novosibirsk students also demonstrated their works about Tashkent, which they also managed to visit during their trip to Uzbekistan.
