Tashkent region boosts cooperation with Spanish companies in textile and environmental sectors

MADRID, May 14. /Dunyo IA/. Within the framework of the visit of the Tashkent region delegation led by Khokim Zoyir Mirzaev to Spain, a series of meetings aimed at expanding investment and technological cooperation with Spanish companies was held, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the negotiations with Spanish partners, in which managers of large textile enterprises of the region also took part via online format, issues of promoting Uzbek textile products to European markets, establishing direct contacts with Spanish investors and entrepreneurs, as well as expanding the export of raw materials and finished products were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing product compliance with international standards, introducing modern production technologies, exchanging experience in the fields of design and branding, as well as adapting products to the requirements of European consumers.
The Spanish side expressed interest in the activities of the textile clusters of the Tashkent region, highly appreciated the production potential of the region and initiated the organization of business meetings with the participation of European companies to launch joint projects.
Also in Madrid, a meeting was held with representatives of the Spanish company “Water Challenge”, which specializes in water resource management and industrial wastewater treatment.
During the negotiations, the Uzbek side presented information on the measures being implemented in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Tashkent region, for the efficient use of water resources, the introduction of water-saving technologies and wastewater treatment.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in a number of areas, including water reuse in the mining and metallurgical industries, the creation of environmentally friendly “smart” water treatment complexes in the Charvak and Bostanlyk tourist zones, as well as the implementation of pilot projects for the treatment of collector-drainage water and its reuse in agriculture.
Spanish company presented its ongoing innovative projects, including a zero-waste pilot water treatment plant in the Port of Huelva, as well as ecological solutions implemented in Slovakia's mining industry.
Following the meetings, agreements were reached to further study the feasibility of introducing Spanish technologies under the conditions of the Tashkent region, develop practical projects and establish long-term mechanisms for mutually beneficial cooperation.
It was noted that the implementation of such initiatives will contribute not only to the rational use of water resources and industrial development but also to strengthening environmental sustainability, promoting the principles of a “green economy” and improving the quality of life for the population.
