Uzbekistan and Serbia discuss expansion of transport and rail cooperation

BELGRADE, May 13. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held in Belgrade dedicated to expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia in the field of transport and railways, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Serbia (based in Budapest), Oybek Shakhavdinov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of “Uzbekistan Railways” JSC Hikmatulla Rakhmetov, as well as the leadership of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia and “Serbian Railways Infrastructure” exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport and logistics.
The sides discussed issues of further developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transport and infrastructure, expanding freight transport routes, and improving the logistics system. They also considered opportunities for exchanging experience in the railway sector and implementing joint projects.
At the conclusion of the event, Uzbekistan and Serbia emphasized their mutual interest in strengthening transport and logistics links between Central Asia and the Balkans, as well as expanding practical cooperation between the two regions.
