“Travel World”: India represents a key strategic market for Uzbekistan's tourism growth

DELHI, May 20. /Dunyo IA/.  The tourism information portal “Travel World” of the popular Indian publication “The Economic Times” published an extensive article dedicated to consecutive efforts to promote Uzbekistan in the Indian tourism market, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In the spotlight are the roadshows in the cities of Hyderabad and Chennai, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Tourism Committee of our country. These events opened up new opportunities for partnership in the tourism industry and confirmed Uzbekistan's status as a priority destination for travellers from India.

The publication states that Uzbekistan is transitioning to a systemic presence in India, which generates around 33 million outbound trips annually. The roadshows in Hyderabad and Chennai gathered more than 70 leading travel agents and tour operators, which testifies to high professional interest. This is a logical continuation of Uzbekistan's participation in the region's largest exhibitions, OTM in Mumbai and SATTE in Delhi, held earlier this year.

“India represents a key strategic market for Uzbekistan's tourism growth. Through these roadshows, we aim not only to strengthen partnerships with Indian travel companies but also to present Uzbekistan as a destination offering a unique blend of history, culture and modern experiences. We warmly invite Indian travellers to explore Uzbekistan and become a part of this shared cultural journey”, the publication quotes the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Sardor Rustambaev.

The author of the article draws attention to the expansion of transport accessibility. Mention is made of the recent codeshare agreement between “Uzbekistan Airways” and “Air India”, which has simplified connections on the Delhi–Tashkent and Mumbai–Tashkent routes, as well as the seasonal Goa–Tashkent destination.

In addition, the publication highlights the launch of a direct Delhi–Namangan flight, opening convenient access to the Fergana Valley.

The publication emphasizes that Uzbekistan positions itself not merely as a destination for classic sightseeing vacations, but as a diversified hub ready to satisfy the demands of the premium segment, corporate tourism (MICE) and organizers of large-scale family celebrations.

The systemic appearance of Uzbekistan in the focus of the world's leading media confirms that the export potential of the domestic tourism industry is reaching a qualitatively new level.
