Uzbekistan developing special training program for chefs specializing in Indian cuisine

• 134NEW DELHI, May 14. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan, jointly with the Tourism Committee and the airlines Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air, organized a roadshow dedicated to the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together representatives of more than 70 leading Indian travel companies specializing in group tours, MICE tourism, family travel, and other areas.
Participants were presented with detailed information on the results of the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as on the country’s growing tourism potential.
Special attention was paid to the favourable conditions created for the development of domestic and international tourism, the expansion of modern hotel infrastructure, and the increasing diversity of tourism services.
Representatives of Indian travel companies expressed strong interest in the dynamic expansion of direct air connectivity between the two countries. It was noted that regular flights are currently operated not only on the Tashkent–New Delhi–Tashkent route, but also from Mumbai and Goa to the capital of Uzbekistan. In particular, Centrum Air launched flights between the capitals of the two countries, while Uzbekistan Airways established direct air links between Namangan and New Delhi. The geography of flights continues to expand.
The sides noted that the number of tourists from India visiting Uzbekistan has increased several-fold in recent years. Indian companies expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in the tourism sector. It was emphasized that the actively developing modern infrastructure in Uzbekistan serves as an important factor in increasing tourist flows.
During the question-and-answer session, participants received detailed information regarding visa procedures for Indian citizens, schedules of high-speed trains, and flights connecting Uzbekistan’s major tourist destinations, including Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabz, and others.
Taking into account the growing number of tourists from India, a special program is being developed to train chefs for cafes and restaurants specializing in Indian national cuisine.
The forum also featured B2B meetings focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, implementing joint projects, and creating new tourism routes and travel packages.
The presentation concluded with screenings of promotional videos showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and a tasting of traditional Uzbek cuisine.
