Uzbekistan and Jiangsu Province of China strengthen multifaceted cooperation

NANJING, August 10. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Embassy of our country in Beijing and the General Consulate in Shanghai visited the city of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province to expand cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and China, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, a number of important and fruitful meetings were held with the leadership of the province, representatives of major industrial companies and business circles.

In particular, issues concerning the development of interregional cooperation and interaction in the fields of investment, trade, logistics, industry, education and tourism were discussed with Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee.

Chinese side was briefed on the measures being implemented in our country to create favourable conditions for representatives of Chinese business in the regions of Uzbekistan, alongside tax incentives and preferences.

It was noted that the province possesses a strong economy, active scientific and technological innovations and a rich cultural heritage.

Xin Changxing with satisfaction emphasized that Jiangsu attaches great importance to exchanges with the regions of Uzbekistan and spoke in favor of further expanding cooperation, implementing important investment projects, deepening economic and trade cooperation, and promoting cultural exchanges.

To develop new promising areas of interregional cooperation, primarily in the economic and investment spheres, a delegation led by the Vice Governor of Jiangsu Zhao Yan, will visit Uzbekistan in the near future.

Jiangsu is one of the leading provinces in the fields of finance, education, technology, and tourism. It ranks first in China in terms of gross regional product per capita and second in total GRP (approximately $2 trillion). The province is a major exporter of electronic equipment, chemicals, and textiles, as well as a recipient of foreign direct investment. Jiangsu also leads in research and education, with 168 institutions of higher education.
