Head of Tatarstan expresses condolences over the deaths of Uzbekistan citizens in a UAV Attack in Nizhnekamsk

KAZAN, August 10. /Dunyo IA/.  Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his condolences to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev over the deaths of seven Uzbek citizens in a UAV attack on a number of facilities in the city of Nizhnekamsk this morning, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the “Tatar-inform” Information Agency, foreign nationals were among the nine people killed at a hostel in an industrial zone. “Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan Nodirjon Kasimov visited the scene of the incident,” the agency reports. “The diplomat is working to resolve issues related to the repatriation of the remains of those killed to their homeland.”

A total of 13 people were killed and 48 others sustained injuries of varying severity. A period of mourning has been declared in Tatarstan today.

According to the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, following the completion of the forensic medical examination and necessary official procedures, measures will be taken to repatriate the remains of the deceased Uzbek citizens to their homeland.
