ISLAMABAD, September 10. /Dunyo IA/.  An article by Dmitry Trostyansky, Chief Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, dedicated to a new stage in Uzbek-South Korean relations, has been published by Pakistan’s “Urdu Report”, reports Dunyo correspondent.

Publication highlights that cooperation between Tashkent and Seoul is shifting from trade and equipment supplies towards deep industrial cooperation. South Korea is seeking to diversify its raw material supplies, while Uzbekistan is focused on deep processing of resources and mastering advanced technologies. Total volume of South Korean investment in Uzbekistan’s economy has exceeded $10 billion, of which around $8 billion constitutes foreign direct investment. “Uz-Kor Gas Chemical” joint venture, valued at around $4 billion, is cited as a key project.

Author highlights successful cooperation in the automotive industry, where the “ADM Jizzakh” plant, in partnership with “Kia Corporation”, manufactures passenger vehicles utilizing semi-knocked-down (SKD) assembly methods, while “UzAuto Components” enterprises supply parts for “UzAuto Motors”.

In conclusion, it is emphasized that the integration of this partnership into the regional agenda will open up new prospects ahead of the upcoming inaugural Summit of the Heads of State of the Republic of Korea and Central Asian Countries.
