ASTANA, April 12. /«Dunyo» IA/. The Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Azizov, held a meeting with Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, Dunyo IA’s correspondent reports, citing the Kazakh online publication «Check-point.kz».

It was noted that the meeting focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation. The parties discussed expanding trade in pharmaceutical products, facilitating Afghan patients’ access to medical treatment in Uzbekistan, and enhancing the qualifications of healthcare professionals.

Particular attention was also given to the implementation of the action plan under the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the two countries. In addition, the sides explored investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector and ways to strengthen coordination between relevant institutions.

Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, emphasized the importance of ensuring the quality of medicines and standardizing medical services, highlighting the need for close cooperation to improve the effectiveness of the healthcare system.

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening cooperation aimed at improving healthcare services and developing professional capacity in the sector.
