Cooperation Agreement and 2026–2027 Roadmap Signed Between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO in Paris

PARIS, April 12. /«Dunyo» IA/. At the headquarters of UNESCO, Chairperson of the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and the Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, held a meeting with the Director-General of the organization, Khaled El-Enany, «Dunyo» IA’s correspondent reports.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO, as well as a Roadmap for 2026–2027. The document establishes a legal and institutional framework for the continued systematic cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO in the fields of education, science, culture, communication, and information.

The Agreement is aimed at the practical implementation of initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, held in Samarkand in November 2025.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed priority areas for further cooperation, as well as coordination within the framework of the results-oriented Roadmap. Both parties expressed their readiness to move forward with the practical implementation of joint global initiatives.

The meeting reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to further deepening its partnership with UNESCO and to jointly advancing the agenda in sustainable development, cultural heritage preservation, and inclusive education.
