Uzbekistan and Egypt to develop new agricultural projects during visit of Uzbek Farmers

CAIRO, September 8. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats held talks with Minister of Agriculture of Egypt and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and Supervisor of Foreign Agricultural Relations Saad Moussa.
During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of an Uzbek working group on agriculture and livestock husbandry scheduled for the second half of September, as well as promising joint projects.
Egyptian Minister highlighted the expanding cooperation and the application of Egypt’s expertise in Uzbekistan, particularly in seed potato cultivation, desert land reclamation and the implementation of advanced irrigation systems.
Uzbek delegation will include business representatives and farmers, with its size expected to reach 60–70 people. The Egyptian side welcomed the program of the visit and confirmed its readiness to ensure the necessary conditions for its successful conduct.
Delegation will study Egypt's experience in livestock development, the creation of a fodder base, and land reclamation. The itinerary also covers joint projects, scientific research, and the development of new varieties of agricultural and fodder crops.
Furthermore, the Egyptian side proposed exploring the implementation of joint livestock initiatives in African nations, with subsequent product supplies to Uzbekistan. The visit will also feature a “roundtable” discussion and B2B meetings between business representatives of both countries.
