Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed the development of cooperation in geological exploration

ASTANA, April 12. /«Dunyo» IA/. The first meeting of the Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan working group on geology and the extraction of rare and rare earth metals was held in Astana, «Dunyo» IA’s correspondent reports, citing the Kazakh portal «Baq Orda».
The meeting was co-chaired by Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Iran Sharkhan and Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan Rustam Yusupov.
During the discussions, the parties addressed key issues related to advancing bilateral cooperation in geological exploration, as well as the extraction and processing of rare and rare earth metals. Particular attention was given to the exchange of expertise and technologies, the implementation of joint projects, the attraction of investment, and the development of value-added processing.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to establish a permanent working group along with specialized subgroups involving representatives of the business community, as well as scientific and educational institutions.
