Uzbek Artisans showcase their craftsmanship in the Malaysian International Handicraft Fair

• 90KUALA LUMPUR, October 6. /Dunyo IA/. With the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in cooperation with the “Hunarmand” Association, a national stand of our country was organized at the Malaysian International Craft Fair (MICF-2026), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Organized by the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, the exhibition gathered 400 artisans from nearly 30 foreign countries, including ASEAN member states, China, Japan, Türkiye, Iran and Uzbekistan, alongside representatives of the local media. Within the framework of the event, products representing various fields of handicraft were presented, and masterclasses were conducted. National stand of Uzbekistan showcased unique handmade pieces by domestic jewellers.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia Chiew Choon Man and Secretary-General Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, noted that this international event contributes to the convergence of peoples and cultures, as well as the development of cooperation between countries. Uzbek masters were presented with a special certificate for their contribution to organizing the international craft product showcase.
National jewellery made of precious metals and stones, crafted by Bukhara jewellers, generated high interest among members of the Malaysian Royal Family, representatives of the ministry, and the diplomatic corps. The applied art pieces by master Tohir Muhamedov demonstrated the centuries-old traditions, national style and high craftsmanship of the Bukhara jewellery school on the international stage.
