ТАSHKENT, September 23. /Dunyo IA/. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected a project to manufacture equipment for small HPPs in Andijan district, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

 According to the press service of the Head of our State, project is being implemented in accordance with the Presidential Decree of March 28, 2025, aimed at developing a network of micro-HPPs across the regions. As part of the initiative, “Andijon Jinlun Yangi Energiya” enterprise is being established.

Such equipment is particularly in demand in Central Asian countries, which have extensive mountainous areas and significant water resources. However, there has been a shortage of specialized enterprises in the region capable of manufacturing such equipment on an industrial scale. The new project aims to meet this demand.

Andijan region's abundant water resources offer significant opportunities for the development of green energy. In particular, the stable flow of the Great Fergana Canal provides favourable conditions for the construction of micro and small HPPs.

The project, financed entirely through foreign investment, has a total value of $20 million. The enterprise is expected to reach full production capacity in 2027. Once fully operational, it will manufacture 100 sets of equipment for small HPPs annually, with a total production value of 70 billion soums, as well as equipment for micro-HPPs, machinery and electrical products.

As global demand for clean and renewable energy continues to grow, small and micro-HPPs are becoming increasingly attractive energy solutions. Their key advantages include minimal environmental impact, short construction periods and stable power generation.

Project will create 200 new jobs. The enterprise plans to export its products to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, with annual exports expected to reach $3 million.

In addition, enterprise plans to build several micro-HPPs in Andijan region. These facilities will supply residents and industrial enterprises with affordable, environmentally friendly and reliable electricity.
