ТАSHKENT, September 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, Leader of Uzbekistan warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, well-being and new successes in his state activities.

President of Uzbekistan conveyed sincere greetings to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty. In turn, President of Turkmenistan conveyed his best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

During the conversation, the leaders discussed the further development of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighbourliness and strategic partnership.

Special attention was paid to expanding trade and economic cooperation. The Presidents noted with satisfaction the steady growth in mutual trade and the implementation of cooperation projects in energy, transport and other important areas.

Leaders emphasized the importance of ensuring the effective operation of the Shavat-Dashoguz joint trade zone.

They also exchanged views on specific issues on the regional agenda in the context of preparations for the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as the CIS Summit in Turkmenistan.

In conclusion, President of Uzbekistan congratulated the President and the people of fraternal Turkmenistan on the upcoming national holiday – Independence Day.
