BERLIN, September 22. /Dunyo IA/.  A “roundtable” meeting dedicated to developing cooperation in the field of technological metals and critical minerals, as well as introducing modern technologies for their extraction and processing, was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of German business circles, specialized companies, and the expert community, alongside a delegation from the Uzbek Technological Metals Combinat (TMC).

Primary attention was focused on the development of strategic and critical mineral resources, the implementation of modern extraction and deep processing technologies for raw materials and the manufacture of high-value-added products.

In his speech, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov noted that the combination of the country’s rich mineral resource base and advanced German technologies creates opportunities for mutually beneficial partnership in the field of critical raw materials and strategic minerals.

Representatives of the TMC delivered a presentation on the combinat's activities, ongoing projects and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. In particular, participants were briefed on plans to attract international technological and investment partners, deeply process available resources and manufacture competitive products.

Special attention during the discussions was paid to developing a full production cycle - from geological exploration and extraction to raw material processing and the manufacturing of finished products. Issues of industrial cooperation, the attraction of advanced technologies and investments, as well as the formation of resilient production and supply chains, were also considered.

As part of the event, B2B meetings were held between representatives of the TMC and German entrepreneurs. Among the areas discussed were the supply of Uzbekistan-manufactured products, including molybdenum and tungsten, to the German and European markets, as well as the participation of foreign companies in industrial clusters.

According to Timur Khikmatullaev, Special Representative of the Chairman of the Board of the TMC on Global Integration, German partners were also invited to participate in the specialized clusters being established in Uzbekistan and to become residents of the future metals technopark.

“German partners are primarily interested in the supply of critical minerals, including molybdenum and tungsten products, to the German market”, he stated.

Joni Bakos, Head of “UzTRadeHouse Germany GmbH”, noted the importance of supporting Uzbek companies in entering the European market.

“We are ready to assist Uzbek entrepreneurs in establishing contacts with German businesses, as well as with export, logistics, and financing matters”, he said, also emphasizing the significance of Uzbekistan's economic potential for the further development of bilateral ties.

Marc Wengrzik, Head of “AKA-Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft”, noted the accumulated experience in financial cooperation between the two countries and the prospects for its expansion.

“Now the main task is to jointly realize these opportunities by enhancing cooperation, exchanging experience, and developing new business and investment projects”, he stated.

Following the meeting, the parties outlined promising areas of interaction between Uzbek and German companies, including technological partnership, investment, the supply of critical minerals and the localization of manufacturing in Uzbekistan.
