BISHKEK, August 29. /Dunyo IA/.   Official opening ceremonies for two joint Uzbek-Kyrgyz projects in the fields of trade and construction materials production have taken place in Bishkek and the Chuy region, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

A two-story shopping center for electrotechnical and construction materials from Uzbekistan has opened in Bishkek. The project cost amounted to $1.8 million, with a total area of 2.5 thousand square meters.

Showroom features doors, windows, elevators, escalators, cable products, modern utility meters, PVC products and other housing construction and renovation goods from Uzbek companies, including Akfa, Shivaki, Artel, UzKabel, Elstan, Dusel, Salid, AsCab, ProCab, Vero Group, Royal and Engelberg.

In the Chuy region, a joint venture named “Glass Center” has been launched, specializing in the production of tempered glass with thermal insulation properties, as well as aluminium doors and window frames. The project was implemented by the companies “Maximum Dream” from Uzbekistan and “Glass Center” from Kyrgyzstan, with the participation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

Total cost of the manufacturing project amounts to $8 million, of which $2.8 million were provided by the Fund.

Ceremonies were attended by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the leadership of the “Uzeltexsanoat” Association, Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, companies Akfa and Artel, Kyrgyz state authorities and local businesses.

The projects are aimed at expanding the presence of Uzbek electrotechnical and construction brands in the Kyrgyz market, increasing trade volumes, entering the EAEU market through Kyrgyzstan and developing joint industrial cooperation.
