Lahore hosts high-level talks on advancing Uzbekistan - Pakistan strategic cooperation

LAHORE, February 11. /Dunyo IA/. During his visit to Lahore, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtayev, held talks with Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Leader of the “Pakistan Muslim League-N” (PML-N), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
At the meeting, Nawaz Sharif highly praised the outcomes of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Pakistan on 5-6 February this year. He also noted that the results of the visit would contribute to elevating bilateral and multilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan to a new level.
- Thanks to the strong political will of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, his devotion to the Motherland and his forward-looking initiatives, Uzbekistan has in recent years achieved significant progress in both foreign and domestic policy. Under his leadership, New Uzbekistan is developing at a rapid pace. Moreover, in a historically short period of time, your country has advanced swiftly, strengthened its national economy and secured a worthy place among nations that hold their own standing and influence in the international arena.
The meeting also focused on prospects for ensuring the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as on further advancing bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and industrial spheres.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for establishing cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and the Province of Punjab.
The sides supported proposals to organize business missions involving entrepreneurs from both countries, to implement joint investment projects in the textile industry and to promote tourism exchanges.
