LONDON, February 19. /Dunyo IA/. A cultural and educational evening dedicated to the 543rd anniversary of the birth of the outstanding statesman, thinker and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur was held in the capital of the United Kingdom with the support of the women’s association “Tomaris” and active representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Participants were provided with a detailed overview of Babur’s life journey and his multifaceted activities. Particular attention was paid to his scientific and literary legacy, as well as his significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and world civilization.
The evening featured recitations of the writer’s famous poems and ghazals, followed by insightful discussions and an exchange of views. Participants noted his role as a statesman, emphasizing the relevance of his views on governance, cultural policy and social development.
The event held special significance as it helped strengthen respect for national values among compatriots living abroad, maintained a spiritual connection with their homeland, and fostered an interest in national heritage and outstanding representatives of Uzbek culture among the younger generation.
At the conclusion of the evening, organizers and participants expressed their readiness to continue promoting the preservation and popularization of Babur’s rich legacy, as well as his scientific and literary heritage.
