ISTANBUL, February 19. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of the Khorezm Region, led by Hokim Jurabek Rakhimov, paid a working visit to the cities of Istanbul and Trabzon, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The delegation included representatives of the regional departments of tourism and preschool education, the leadership of Urgench State University and members of the business community.

During the visit, a series of meetings and events were held aimed at strengthening interregional cooperation, launching new projects in education, tourism and industry and fostering direct contacts between business circles.

In Istanbul, the delegation met with the Governor of the region, Davut Gül. The parties discussed expanding bilateral interregional ties at the institutional level, increasing tourist flows and promoting partnerships between business entities.

In addition, during negotiations with the leadership of Istanbul University, agreements were reached on cooperation in education, academic exchange, joint scientific research and student mobility.

The delegation visited the “İkitelli” industrial zone, where they familiarized themselves with the production infrastructure, the cluster system and conditions for investors and discussed opportunities for attracting Turkish investors to the Khorezm region.

Within the framework of the business forum organized jointly with the Independent Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Association (MÜSİAD), B2B meetings were held between entrepreneurs from the two countries. During these meetings, specific projects in the fields of industrial cooperation, the food industry, textiles, construction materials and services were discussed.

In Trabzon, the delegation met with Mayor Tahir Şahin to discuss activating trade and economic ties with the Black Sea regions, as well as strengthening cooperation in logistics and tourism. The meeting with Deputy Mayor Ahmet Gülay was dedicated to establishing partnership ties between cities and implementing cultural and educational exchanges.

The delegation participated in a business forum organized by the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum presented opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in tourism infrastructure, the hotel industry, agricultural processing and export sectors.

A meeting was also held with the leadership of the Trabzon Department of Tourism and Culture, during which the parties reached agreements on the joint promotion of the tourism potential of both regions.

Following the meetings, a decision was made to hold “Culture and Tourism Days” alternately in Istanbul, Trabzon and Khiva, increase the number of flights on the “Urgench – Istanbul” route and organize direct flights between Urgench and Trabzon. Additionally, plans were made to prepare a visit by a Turkish business delegation to the Khorezm region.

Throughout the working visit, Khorezm region delegation established strong institutional and business ties with leading regions of Türkiye. As a result of the meetings and business forums, preliminary agreements were reached on a number of promising investment and cooperation projects.

The visit contributes to the expansion of the Khorezm region’s foreign economic ties, the attraction of foreign investment and the achievement of a new level of international cooperation in tourism and education.
