Uzbekistan highlights its experience in family and women’s rights in Istanbul

• 65ISTANBUL, February 19. /Dunyo IA/. An international conference titled “Strengthening the family” was held at Istanbul Commerce University, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan; Family and Women’s Committee; Ministry of Family and Social Services of Türkiye; “Women and Democracy” Association (KADEM) and Society for the Protection of Uzbek Women’s Rights.
The two-day conference brought together professors, university faculty, scholars and specialists from government organizations. During the event, more than 85 reports were presented, focusing on the role of women in society, the strengthening of family values and the experiences of Uzbekistan and Türkiye in these fields.
Participants were provided with a detailed overview of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to strengthen the institution of the family and provide comprehensive support to women, the tasks outlined in the “Year of Mahalla development and enhancing the role of society” program and the primary objectives of the new “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy.
The parties discussed opportunities for strengthening scientific and academic cooperation between government and public organizations in these areas.
The closing ceremony featured speeches by the Minister of Family and Social Services of Türkiye, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, the Chairperson of the KADEM Foundation, Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar and other officials. It was emphasized that the conference serves as a platform for exchanging experiences between the two countries in supporting families and women and will become a foundation for proposing new initiatives and ideas in this field.
In conclusion, participants agreed to continue organizing similar scientific and practical events, to unite the efforts of government bodies, academic circles and civil society and to develop new projects aimed at protecting and strengthening the institution of the family.
