Protection of the rights of citizens of Uzbekistan discussed in the Primorsky Krai of Russia

VLADIVOSTOK, July 25. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the General Consulate of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Primorsky Krai, Major General of Justice Eduard Trubchik, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meeting was also attended by the Acting Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok, Evgeny Volosastov.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of timely notification of the consular office regarding citizens of Uzbekistan detained on suspicion of committing crimes on the territory of Russia, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation.

In addition, parties reviewed the most common types of crimes committed by citizens of Uzbekistan permanently or temporarily residing in the Primorsky Krai.

Participants of the meeting also exchanged views on matters concerning the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of compatriots, the provision of consular and legal assistance to them, as well as on issues of labour migration and challenges arising in this sphere.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further cooperation, including the regular conduct of awareness-raising and preventive measures aimed at crime prevention, with visits to enterprises and organizations where a large number of citizens of Uzbekistan are employed.
