SAMARKAND, September 4. /Dunyo IA/. The XII Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, titled “On the Path to Restoring Human Rights, Justice and Human Dignity in Challenging Times,” opens in the ancient city of Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The conference is organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

At the opening of the conference, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva read out an address to young parliamentarians from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the conference, participants will discuss pressing global challenges, issues related to the protection of human rights and human dignity, strengthening the principles of justice, ensuring peace and stability, as well as the role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Particular attention will be paid to expanding youth participation in decision-making processes, enhancing their role in parliamentary activities and developing inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The forum will also feature the III Global Forum on Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The organization of such a representative international event in Samarkand reflects Uzbekistan’s consistent efforts to develop youth diplomacy, strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and promote initiatives aimed at expanding youth participation in public and political life.
