SAMARKAND, March 24. /Dunyo IA/. The gastronomic festival “Shark Taomlari” (“Dishes of the East”) is taking place on March 23–24 on Alisher Navoi Street in Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent from the scene.
The first day of the festival was marked by a festive atmosphere and a rich program of events. The gathering brought together professional chefs, restaurateurs, and culinary enthusiasts, showcasing a wide variety of Eastern and international cuisine.
Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to taste a selection of national and international dishes, as well as observe live cooking demonstrations. Particular interest was drawn to master classes conducted by experienced chefs, who shared practical insights into preparing both traditional and modern dishes.
Guests were not only able to sample a diverse range of foods but also learn about cooking techniques, presentation styles, and culinary traditions from different cultures.
Organizers note that such gastronomic festivals contribute to the development of event tourism in Samarkand and help promote Uzbek national cuisine on the international stage. As one of the oldest cultural centers in the region, the city continues to expand its tourism initiatives, including hosting large-scale culinary events.
The “Shark Taomlari” festival has become a vibrant highlight of the spring season and an important platform for knowledge exchange among professionals in the gastronomy industry, while also attracting both domestic and international visitors.
