Istanbul hosts discussions on expanding tourist flows to Uzbekistan

ISTANBUL, June 18. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting dedicated to promoting Uzbekistan's tourism opportunities and developing cooperation with Turkish partners in the field of tourism was held in Istanbul, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was organized with the participation of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, the representative office of “Uzbekistan Airways” in Türkiye and the “Ender Turizm” travel agency.
The meeting featured the participation of leading Turkish tourism companies, alongside corporate sector representatives interested in developing leisure and business travel to Uzbekistan.
The participants were briefed on the route network of “Uzbekistan Airways” and the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to the country's rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as the tourism attractiveness of cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent, including the prospects for the development of pilgrimage tourism.
During the meeting, matters regarding the expansion of the tourist flow from Türkiye to Uzbekistan, the formulation of new tourism routes, and the strengthening of cooperation between the tourism companies of the two countries were discussed.
Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the practical aspects of organizing pilgrimage, cultural, and educational tours, as well as increasing the mutual tourist and passenger flow.
Following the event, the participants expressed their keen interest in the further development of cooperation in the field of tourism, the expansion of tourist exchange programs, and a more active utilization of the potential of pilgrimage tourism.
