Professional “Teacher of the Year” Competition in Uzbekistan Names 208 Winners

TASHKENT, September 20. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan has announced the first winners of the professional “Teacher of the Year” competition, which attracted more than 46,000 teachers from across the country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
As a result of the competition, 208 teachers took first place in their respective districts and cities. The contests assessed teachers’ professional skills, with particular attention paid to innovative practices that contribute to improving the quality of education.
Each of the 208 winners will receive a cash prize of 616 million sums (just over $52,000). This amount is equivalent to 1,400 basic calculated values (BCV).
The competition is being held for the first time on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. Its goal is to identify the professional potential of teachers, foster healthy competition among educators, and improve the quality of education.
The high number of participants also demonstrates the strong interest among teachers in the professional competition and their desire to showcase their best results in their respective regions.
