HYDERABAD, April 3. /Dunyo IA/. A group of young Indian students who graduated from Bukhara State Medical Institute in 2024 successfully passed the national licensing exam to practice medicine, reports the correspondent of Dunyo IA.

Higher education is one of the rapidly developing areas of Uzbek-Indian cooperation. Currently, around 10,000 students from India are studying at universities and institutes in Uzbekistan.
In 2024, 150 young men and women from the Indian state of Telangana graduated from Bukhara State Medical Institute. According to established regulations in India, all graduates of foreign medical universities are required to pass the Medical Council of India’s Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) to obtain permission to practice medicine in the country. The results of this challenging exam grant the right to engage in medical practice. Notably, nearly 80 percent of the 2024 graduates of Bukhara State Medical Institute successfully passed the exam on their first attempt.
– Bukhara State Medical Institute provided us with excellent opportunities for quality education, noted graduate Charishma Parla (India). – The academic process met international standards. We studied using textbooks published in Uzbekistan and India. The theoretical knowledge was complemented by practical skills gained in medical institutions and the institute's simulation training center. Today, I am happy to receive my certificate to practice medicine.
The choice of Indian nationals to attend government medical universities in Uzbekistan is due to the fact that the education system in the country aligns with international standards, and medical courses for foreign students are conducted in English. These institutions are listed among the recommended medical universities in India. Additionally, Uzbekistan provides comfortable living conditions and a safe environment for international students.
Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and Bukhara State Medical Institute attended the ceremony in Hyderabad, the administrative center of Telangana state, where certificates for successfully passing the licensing exam were awarded. Rector of the Institute Shukhrat Teshayev and other participants spoke about the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Indian cooperation, congratulating the young Indian graduates on receiving their national certificates for professional practice.
An exhibition of Uzbek national dishes presented by the delegation from Uzbekistan generated significant interest among the event’s participants. The event was widely covered by Indian media.
