Consular assistance provided to citizens of Uzbekistan in Shymkent

• 201SHYMKENT, April 27. /Dunyo IA/. An outreach consular reception, organized by representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Almaty, was held in the Kazakh city of Shymkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the reception, consular assistance was provided to more than 60 citizens. The main inquiries concerned the issuance of biometric passports for travel abroad, the retrieval of documents from Uzbekistan, issues related to the renunciation of citizenship and the determination of citizenship status, as well as the issuance of certificates for return to Uzbekistan.
The diplomats also visited several construction sites in the city where our compatriots are employed. During meetings with more than 70 migrants, current issues regarding their labour activities and living conditions were discussed, emerging problems were examined, and necessary consular and legal assistance was provided.
The participants were briefed on the measures being implemented in Uzbekistan to support citizens traveling abroad for employment, including state-provided social guarantees for their families, as well as new opportunities created by the Migration Agency.
The citizens were also explained the provisions of Kazakhstan's migration legislation and the necessity of its strict compliance. Furthermore, compatriots were informed about the inadmissibility of involvement in destructive religious and terrorist movements, as well as the ban on contacts with individuals associated with illegal organizations.
The citizens positively evaluated the outreach reception and the provision of consular and legal assistance, expressing their wish for such events to be held on a regular basis.
