Minister of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan meets with compatriots studying in the UK

LONDON, May 27. /Dunyo IA/. The Minister of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan Hilola Umarova and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Otabek Makhkamov held a meeting with Uzbek students studying at universities in the UK, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by more than fifty students enrolled in various fields at prestigious institutions such as Cambridge, University College London (UCL), Queen Mary University, Reading, Brunel, Westminster, and other universities.

It is noteworthy that 120 scholarship holders of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation are currently studying at top-300 ranked universities in the UK, specializing in fields considered priorities for Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, there was an exchange of views on enhancing students’ sense of patriotism, developing national values, discussing their future plans, and providing legal assistance. The essence of the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy and the state program "Year of Support for Youth and Business" was also emphasized.

In conclusion, the ministers highlighted positive changes in school and higher education, including the creation of many new educational institutions, which now number nearly 210. It was also emphasized that digitalization and IT technologies are rapidly developing in the republic.
