SEATAC, July 1. /Dunyo IA/.  Consul General of Uzbekistan in Seattle Akhror Burkhanov, met with Mohamed Egal, Mayor of the city of SeaTac in the U.S. State of Washington, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

City of SeaTac, home to the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, occupies a strategically important position and serves as one of the key transport and logistics hubs of the Seattle metropolitan area. The city is characterized by a high level of development in international business, logistics, tourism and the service sector, as well as a multinational population.

Mayor of SeaTac Mohamed Egal, noted that he closely follows the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the President. According to him, the results achieved within a relatively short historical period are highly impressive and serve as a source of inspiration.

In addition, Mohamed Egal who represents the Somali diaspora, emphasized that Uzbekistan’s development model today can serve as a successful example not only for Central Asian countries but also for African states. In his view, Uzbekistan’s experience in conducting economic reforms, attracting investments, developing entrepreneurship, and modernizing the public administration system deserves comprehensive study and practical application by African nations.

During the meeting, parties discussed establishing direct ties between the city of SeaTac and the regions of Uzbekistan, developing cooperation between business circles, expanding cultural, humanitarian and educational exchanges, as well as supporting citizens of Uzbekistan residing in the city.

Following the negotiations, Mohamed Egal expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support to the activities of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Seattle. He also declared his willingness to assist in supporting representatives of the Uzbek diaspora residing in SeaTac, encourage their active participation in the city's public life, promote the establishment of direct contacts between the business circles of Uzbekistan's regions and SeaTac, and personally facilitate the advancement of joint projects.
