Namangan and Grodno regions sign Memorandum of Cooperation

GRODNO, August 17. /Dunyo IA/. Grodno Region of Belarus and Namangan Region of Uzbekistan have agreed to expand cooperation in industry, agriculture, textiles and other areas, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Namangan Region Governor Shavkat Abdurazakov and Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Yuri Karayev discussed prospects for implementing joint projects, strengthening business ties and establishing new production facilities.

In particular, the two sides plan to advance industrial and agricultural cooperation, promote technology exchange and attract investment. Particular attention was devoted to the textile industry, including the joint production of garments and fabrics using Uzbekistan’s raw materials and production capabilities.

Namangan Region is also interested in expanding supplies of Belarusian products. Plans are under consideration to establish livestock farms in the Grodno, Vitebsk and Minsk regions, while proposals for the privatisation of existing enterprises are also being examined.

The sides also agreed to step up scientific and technical cooperation, facilitate the exchange of specialists and expertise, and strengthen interaction in the fields of culture and tourism.

Following the meeting, Shavkat Abdurazakov and Yuri Karayev signed a Memorandum on the Development of Interregional Ties between the two regions.
