SEATTLE, July 27 /Dunyo IA/. A “roundtable” discussion dedicated to the prospects for trade and economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and the north-western region of the Pacific Coast of the United States was held at “Asia Society Seattle”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by former President of “Boeing China” John Bruns, former U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Michael Michalak, President of the “World Affairs Council Seattle” Jacqueline Miller, executives of the law firms “Dorsey & Whitney” and “K&L Gates”, as well as representatives of “Amazon”, “Google”, “Microsoft” and local business and academic communities.

Meeting featured a comprehensive presentation on Uzbekistan’s large-scale political, economic, and institutional reforms, improvements in the investment climate and new opportunities for foreign investors, as well as promising projects in industry, energy, the digital economy, logistics, tourism and high technologies.

During the discussions, parties reviewed legal guarantees for investors, public-private partnership mechanisms, transport and logistics infrastructure, and prospects for cooperation in the field of innovation. Participants highly commended the reforms implemented in recent years and the strengthening of Uzbekistan’s position as an important economic partner in Central Asia.

Following the event, agreements were reached on establishing practical cooperation in specific areas, jointly developing investment projects and arranging direct dialogue with relevant government agencies of Uzbekistan.
